today is a lucky day for pretty dresses. first i saw this new lovely at one of my fave online stores, modcloth.com. it's called the "lunch date dress"
and later in the day i wandered to beeks's blog and she had posted about a giveaway on this girl meg's blog for this pretty thing! meg named it the "ladies who lunch" dress. very charlotte from sex and the city (or maybe michelle obama?), but the green keeps it fresh. i think i could pair it with a cardigan and not feel like i'm playing dress up. or i could switch her white patent belt for my black studded one. regardless, i dig.
i need to schedule some lunch dates, stat!

i want your kite strings tangled in my trees all wrapped up
well hello there...
it's not that i don't love you anymore, sweet blog. i just can't sit down lately and actually turn out a blog entry. as if mtv didn't damage my attention span enough from infancy, twitter popped up on the scene and has rendered me incapable of thinking beyond 140 character bursts. we'll get back to the long rambling rhythm of life at some point, but until then i refer you to the upper right hand corner.

i am feeling a little peculiar
i have this adorable fun friend named holly who used to work for google. and i discovered last night that google at one point hosted a "google idol" contest that holly won. she didn't just win within her department or within the dallas office (which unfortunately no longer exists); it was a company-wide contest and she won. curiousity and boredom at work got the better of me today, so i pulled up the video. ya'll, she killed it. i mean really, she's so good. i wish i could hear more of hollybear and less of her friend weilding the video camera, but nonetheless, i present my sweet friend holly singing "what's up" by the 4 non blondes
